  • Great Car with a Horrible Transmission

By Sergio on Tuesday, May 15, 2018

    4.0
Ive wanted the 2018 Camry XSE since the first time I saw it. It took me about 3 months before I bought it, because I wanted to make sure I was making a good purchase. I paid a great price for my car and I find the car very good. It is efficient, has many security items, but there is something that is bothering me so much, that is the transmission. The gear changes are slow and accelerating the Camry soon after a slowing down is a terrible thing. The transmission is always hesitating to change gears. I complained about this problem in the Toyota Dealer and was given the wonderful solution to avoid using the ECO mode and always use the SPORT mode. I confess I was surprised that the solution given by the Toyota Dealer because I believe that Toyota Engineers are a little smarter and able to design a better transmission than the one in my car. I have prayed a lot for Toyota engineers to find a solution to this problem, otherwise Ill have to change my Camry for an Accord.
  • 2019 Camry SE Disappointment

By Anonymous on Sunday, September 08, 2019

I had a 2010 Camry SE which I loved. I traded it in due to the fact it had 200,000 miles on it and I drive far to work. I purchased the 2019 Camry SE which doesn't even come close. I will first say that this is a very attractive car with great gas mileage, but the great stops there. There are some parts on this car that are very cheaply made. Such as the door handles, window buttons, even the turn signals have issues. It also seems like a have new chip in my paint weekly, even after having extra protection applied. The road noise is extremely loud and it seems like there is some weird wind draft noise when driving on the interstate. And, let me not forget to mention the hesitation in acceleration. This is definitely a safety concern. I expected more from a $30,000 car.
  • Best car I've ever purchased

Firstly, I'm astounded at the numerous fake, negative reviews on this 'trusted' KBB site. What gives? My 2019 SE is refined, yet sporty. So fun to drive. Great seats, comfortable for a long haul. I'm 6'4" 260 lbs - and the ergonomics are outstanding. I've got the celestial silver and get lots of comments on how good the car looks. Had a terrible experience with another manufacturer's CVT transmission, so I'm pleased to have an 8 speed with overdrive in this sedan. The 4 cylinder gives me PLENTY of juice and torque when I want it. A/C is great in a hot, humid Tennessee summer. Safety features have already helped me avoid potential issues from crummy Nashville drivers multiple times. Fantastic gas mileage. Minor issues: no Android Play, and only one USB port in my SE. But for me, these minor points are vastly outweighed by the sporty, handsome, reliable and comfortable Camry SE. Test drive one if you're in the market. BTW, I was shopping for a new SUV crossover when I ended up buying the Camry on a test driving whim, based on a friend's recent purchase and recommendation. First time in years I actually look forward to climbing into my vehicle and just driving - FOR FUN!
